As building rapport is important in Irish culture, it is common to engage in social conversation prior to a meeting, often over non-alcoholic refreshments. Appropriate topics of conversation include the weather, the traffic, or the journey to Ireland. One of the best ways of building rapport is to ask questions about family/children (though, of course, not at a job interview).
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Ireland guide.
