Excerpted from the Belgium Career Guide
Since the high-tech heyday of the late 1990s, this sector can best
be described as unpredictable– experiencing waves of layoffs and new
hiring. The Belgium job market for IT professionals today reflects
this unpredictability with some opportunities for new jobs amidst
continuing headcount reductions. In the latter category are recent
job cut announcements from Belgian internet security solutions
company Ubizen (15 of its 269 jobs) and STM Microelectronics
Belgium, a subsidiary of the French company (30 of its 161 jobs).
The Belgian division of Lanier, a documents management solutions
provider, will cut 85 of its 600 Belgian jobs. And Belgian logistics
company Excel has announced that it cannot guarantee its jobs unless
new contracts are found.
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete guide.
