Italian employers report the most optimistic job forecast in four years, according to the quarterly Manpower Employment Outlook Survey of 1,000 Italian employers. With a net outlook of +4 percent (nine percent adding staff while five percent decrease staff) and a seasonally adjusted +6 percent, this quarter increased six percentage points over last quarter and three percentage over the same period the year before. "This encouraging data is a positive signal,” said Stefano Scabbio, President and CEO of Manpower Italy. “It offers us hope that [we] will see a recovery in employment in Italy. Despite the climate of political uncertainty, which we’re experiencing, companies want to resume making investments in human capital in order to support their growth and development plans. We hope that this willingness is understood and supported not only by the market, but also by public institutions. And we hope the latter will promote welfare policies that are designed to help companies create new jobs."
