   :: Sales & Marketing

Excerpted from the Japan Career Guide

The Hudson survey of Japanese executives reports a generally weak media market, expecting a lower rate of employment growth than most sectors. Despite this, more than a third of the executives surveyed from that sector did indicate some hiring plans. As always, the industry will be focused on recruiting talent who can bring in and manage large dollar projects. Excellent communication and customer skills are important for success in this sector.

Employment opportunities in the sales and marketing fields seem more robust. In the Hudson survey, sales was the job field, which ranked highest for hiring expectations – with almost 32 percent of the executives surveying indicating hiring plans. Marketing/public relations ranked fourth behind engineering and accounting/finance. Almost 40 percent of the respondents indicated a need for sales and marketing professionals.

This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Japan guide.
