Excerpted from the Netherlands Career Guide
The normal interviewing process in the Netherlands may consist of several interviews before the final meeting is held to discuss employment terms. It is customary for the applicant to produce references only after being asked which usually does not occur before a second round of interviews. Since every company may conduct the series of interviews in a different manner, the applicant should inquire after the procedure. In some industries, one is first interviewed on one's general skills and competencies, most often by someone from the HR department; in other cases the first interview is geared towards the specific skills and competences required for a particular position, usually with the head of department. Combinations of these interview methods are also possible.
Business in The Netherlands is conducted on a formal and conservative basis. Work ethics are highly valued and business courtesy is very important. Punctuality is a must and it is wise to arrive at an interview 10 to 15 minutes early.
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Netherlands guide.
