Excerpted from the Spain Career Guide

The IT sector outperformed other Spanish service sectors according to the National Statistics Institute (INE), recently growing 7.3 percent while commerce rose only 5.2 percent, transportation 4.8 percent and tourism 2.6 percent. However, Spanish companies still lag behind their European counterparts in using technologies such as personal computers and internet access, according to a report published by consulting firm DMR Consulting and the Spanish trade group A ETIC. The report shows that only 86.5 percent of Spanish companies used personal computers compared with 98 per cent in Italy, 99 per cent in Sweden and 95 per cent in Germany. Only 76 percent of Spanish businesses had access to the internet compared with a European average of 94 percent. The Spanish region of Navarra had the highest number of companies with internet access last year, while the regions of Aragon and Extremadura had the lowest. All Spanish companies with more than 250 employees had personal computers. While the number of personal computers in Spanish households is growing, and Spain is at an advantage to many other countries in terms of access to technology, the country fails to take full advantage of it. Overall, as the EU's fifth-largest economy, Spain ranks 17th out of the 25 members of the current European Union in terms of IT use.

This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Spain guide.
